LEARN the best in child development and teaching the Faith!
At ECFL, we believe that a child’s first and most important teachers are his or her parents. Our mission is to connect parents with their peers and empower them to raise their children optimally in the Faith. ECFL welcomes families with children 0-5 years old. Its sessions facilitate family interaction, parent peer-connection and education. We are excited to bring this opportunity to our community and hope that you will join us!
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd takes place Sunday during the school year from 9:15am-10:15am. It is in the Atrium Room in Guardian Angels Catholic School, lower level.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a Montessori based program that is designed to help children fall in love with the Good Shepherd. Children learn about the Mass, vestments, liturgy, and stories from the Bible. In the Atrium, children are given the space to explore the quintessential truths of the Catholic Faith. (currently only in English)
Guardian Angels Faith Formation Program (Gospel Weeklies) seeks to partner with parents, the primary catechists, to serve as support and to supplement the faith education received in the home. We offer dynamic programs to help children and youth grow in wisdom and grace. Our programs are available in English and Spanish. English Faith Formation takes places Wednesday evenings 6:15pm-7:30pm and Spanish Faith Formation takes place Sunday mornings 10:15 am – 11:30 am.
Our students are integrated into the regular life and worship of the parish through the Gospel Weeklies Program. This program focuses the teaching of the faith through the readings for the next Sunday. This prepares them to deeper participation in the sacrifice of the mass and appreciation of the Paschal Mystery. It also helps them to see the deeper meaning and reality in the richness of Catholic worship, in understanding the liturgical year with its many signs and symbols.
YOUCAT (Youth Catechism)
Our High School program has a strong emphasis in the moral life of the church. This program supplements our confirmation preparation program and seeks students to seek the deeper meanings of the faith and how it applies to a lifelong Catholic. This is accomplished through a focus of the moral life of the church with a strong emphasis on developing personal virtue. Catechists seek to work with individual students recognizing their individual gifts and talents and how they can be used for the glory of our Lord.
Adult Faith Formation – Guardian Angels recognizes the need for lifelong formation and offers regular opportunities to learn, pray, and grow. Annual Bible studies are held at the parish. These programs seek to know our Lord more through the Word of God. Other programs such as men’s and women’s groups-Daughters of Isabella, Knights of Columbus, etc- serve as opportunities for learning, fellowship, and service.
