Confirmation

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” -Acts 1:8

Confirmation is a Catholic sacrament of mature Christian commitment and a deepening of baptismal gifts. It is one of the three Sacraments of Initiation for Catholics and is most often associated with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Confirmation emphasizes the transformation of life by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Confirmed Christians claim as fully their own the new life into which they were initiated by Baptism. The Church expresses its continued support and concern for the spiritual growth of those who are confirmed and at the same time looks to them to assist others to grow and mature in the Christian life.
