Celebrating the Feast of the Ascension, May 23/24, 2020,

Entrance: Hail the Day that Sees Him Rise

Hail the day that sees him rise, Alleluia! To his throne above the skies, Alleluia!

Christ awhile to mortals given, Alleluia! Re-ascends his native heav’n, Alleluia!

There for him high triumph waits; Alleluia! Lift your heads, eternal gates, Alleluia!

He has conquered death and sin, Alleluia! Take the King of glory in, Alleluia!

Glory to God in the highest, and peace to his people on earth.

Ps.47: God mounts his throne to shouts of joy, O sing your praises to the Lord.

Preparation of the gifts: Go Make of All Disciples

“Go make of all disciples:” we hear the call, O Lord.

That comes from you, our Father, in your eternal Word.

Inspire our ways of learning through earnest, fervent prayer,

And let our daily living reveal you ev’rywhere.

“Go make of all disciples:” baptising in the name

Of Father, Son and Spirit from age to age the same.

We call each new disciple to follow you O Lord,

Redeeming soul and body by water and the Word.

“Go make of all disciples:” we welcome your command;

“Lo, I am with you always:” we take your guiding hand.

The task looms large before us – we follow without fear,

In heav’n and earth your power shall bring God’s kingdom here.

Communion: Here I Am, Lord

I, the Lord of sea and sky, I have heard my people cry.

All who dwell in dark and sin, My hand will save.

I who made the stars of night, I will make their darkness bright.

Who will bear my light to them? Whom shall I send? (refrain)

Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord? I have heard you calling in the night.

I will go, Lord, if you lead me. I will hold your people in my heart.

I, the Lord of wind and flame, I will tend the poor and lame.

I will set a feast for them, My hand will save.

Finest bread I will provide till their hearts be satisfied.

I will give my life to them. Whom shall I send? (refrain)

Recessional: Rejoice, the Lord is King!

Rejoice, the Lord is King! Your Lord and King adore!

Rejoice give thanks and sing, and triumph evermore.

Lift up your heart, lift up your voice! Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!

And take his servants up to their eternal home;

Lift up your heart, lift up your voice! Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!
