Trunk or Treat

A Halloween celebration for the whole parish family, sponsored by Guardian Angels PTO

When: Friday, October 27, 2017
Time: 5:00-7:00 p.m. (setup starts at 4:30 p.m.)
Where: Guardian Angels School

Guardian Angels PTO is very excited to host its first-ever Trunk or Treat event.  Families and parishioners are invited to create treat stations, by decorating their vehicles and passing out treats.  Cedar Street next to the school will be transformed into a line of treat stations.  All children of the parish are invited to wear costumes and trick or treat in a safe family friendly environment.

If you participate as a treat station, please provide enough treats for 100 children.  Have fun designing and decorating your vehicle.  Each adult and child will be voting for their favorite vehicle.  Unique, fun, and family-oriented designs are encouraged.  For more information or to reserve a spot for your decorated vehicle, contact Alisen Kendall at alisenk@hotmail.com or 612-296-3847.  Vehicle registration will be accepted through October 20, space is limited!’

The event will include:

  • Trunk Decoration Contest
  • Trick or Treating
  • Family Friendly Fun
  • Hot Drinks
  • Hot Dogs

Bulletin Message from Rome

Dear Taylor,

It is wonderful to hear from you (and of course I remember you). I am greatly pleased that you and the Youth Leadership Team (YLT) have been formed, and that you took the time to write me a letter.

Although I cannot remember who said it, these words keep repeating: you, and others like you, are not the future of the Church; rather, you are the present.

This is true and I hope that it lends some strength to your ministry in our home community.

It sounds like you all have made a great start with the activities you have organized, and I encourage you to continue to use your creativity to find more ways to bolster the faith of the Parish and establish greater unity among its members.

Concerning your request for a letter from Pope Francis, I will look into this possibility. I am unaware of how to do so, but I will keep you updated on my progress. I have seen our Holy Father from a distance, and I have heard him speak at his Sunday Angelus Address. Some themes he often speaks on are: being joyful, welcoming & reaching out to others who may be/feel alone, and to pray!

Thank you again for your letter, and I will see what I can do about that letter.

Know of my prayers for you members of YLT and for Guardian Angels Parish.

Peace,

Clayton Forner
